(PLTM) - Four teachers will be overseeing the newly reopened “Bambelela” education programme, which will see children of District One accessing the homework and study programme free of cost.

According to a statement, the programme, which was formally recommissioned on September 24, is now being housed at the SDA Youth Center in Carrot Bay.

The Bambelela homework programme, which was started some four years ago, was created for children in the First District who are in dire need of extra help with their schoolwork. However, it was interrupted by Hurricane Irma and was not restarted for various reasons.

In making brief remarks at the relaunching ceremony, District One Representative, Hon. Andrew Fahie said, “Our future is in good hands with our four experienced educators: Teachers, Jackie, Anthony, Housing and Darlene.“

He extended gratitude to the persons who made the reopening possible, such as Blue Ocean and the Richardsons.

"Pastor Webster and the Carrot Bay SDA Board for allowing the programme to be housed in the Youth Center until the Abraham Leonard Community Center is repaired from the damages caused by Hurricane Irma more than a year ago.”

The programme is held from 5pm to 7pm Mondays to Thursdays.
