(PLTM) - Over 72-hours have elapsed since the search began on Tortola for the missing Walter Todman, and search parties have come up empty-handed.

Speaking to BVI Platinum News, the man’s sister, Altagracia Hodge lamented that so far, they have not had any luck with locating her 83 year-old brother.

“No, none so ever…no leads, nothing,” she shared as she related that the police are still searching.

Ms. Hodge divulged that this is the first such incident, as the man does not have a history of wandering off.

She explained that his wife recently passed away, but would not speculate whether this was some sort of trigger.

“We’ve searched everywhere we know he was familiar with,” she stated.

Early Saturday morning, a search party of over thirty volunteers of the Virgin Islands Search and Rescue (VISAR) and the family of Todman began their search at Todman Peak, Tortola area, for the man, an Alzheimer’s patient. Todman disappeared from Todman Estate, where he resides, at about 21:00 hours on Friday, September 14. His last known location is Todman Peak and he was last seen wearing wearing a green shirt and black trousers.

As the search continues, Head of the Criminal Investigations Department, Chief Inspector Adrian Kartick is calling on the community to aid in the efforts.

“We want persons to come out in large numbers to help in this search. Those who have privately owned K-9 dogs and aerial drones are asked to provide their assistance. Many knew Mr. Todman who lived all his life in Todman Estate. My hope is that we will have even more participation by the community in this search to help in finding him”, he stated via a police press release.

Family members have indicated that due to his health condition, he may be confused and not respond to his name.

Mr. Todman is about 5 feet 3 inches in height, slim built, dark in complexion, and bald-headed with a white beard. Anyone who may have seen him within the last 72 hours is asked to contact the RVIPF.
