(PLTM) - Scores of alumni of the BVI High School (BVIHS) and the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) showed their support for the school's Unity Concert themed, “Rebuild and Restore Our School Excellence”.

The fund-raising event held on Saturday, June 16, was sponsored by Flow, in collaboration with Nagico Insurances, Tortola Pier Park and Top Priority Security.

According to Flow, it attracted the alumni of the classes of 1971 through to 2017, and among other artistes, featured performances by the ESHS Senior Concert Band, Alumni Band, ESHS Alumni Choir, ESHS Male Choir, H. Lavity Stoutt Community College Jazz Ensemble, ESHS Senior Concert Band, ESHS Steel Pan Orchestra, Oren Hodge, Gabrielle Denae, Brent Hoyte, Showtime Band and All Bout Music (ABM). The evening’s hosts were Zoe Jennifer Walcott and Kareem Nelson Hull.

ESHS Principal, Sandy Underhill said she was pleased with the turnout and audience participation.

“The Elmore Stoutt High School is normally very well supported by the community and tonight was no exception. We had a fund-raising goal of $60,000 and the Unity Concert helped us to get closer to that goal.”

She added, “We will continue to receive pledges until the end of June at the school and I am encouraging the community to continue to pledge their donations towards the rebuild and restoration of our music and technical departments of the school.”

Marketing Communications Manager, Nadia James-Harris in congratulating the school on the success of the event, highlighted that community engagement and youth development remain two of Flow’s key pillars and the telecommunications provider was delighted to support the ESHS in achieving its rebuild and restoration goals.
