(PLTM) - Residents of Virgin Gorda have finished cleaning the entrance of Savannah Bay Beach, which was used as a temporary dumping site following the passage of Hurricane Irma.
The entrance of the beach was restored by adults, students and civil society organizations that joined efforts and removed debris from the beach’s entrance in preparation for the tourist season, which started in November.
Savannah Bay Beach boasts a quarter mile of white sand and is the second most popular tourist attraction on Virgin Gorda, after the world famous Baths.
Chairman of the Virgin Gorda Recovery Operations, Vincent Wheatley said visitors have started visiting the beach in small numbers.
