(PLTM) - Education Minister and Territorial-At-Large Representative, Hon. Myron Walwyn has started a programme geared towards assisting homeowners, already raising some $70,000.00.

Minister Walwyn, who led by example by injecting $10,000.00, said that the initiative is for persons who are in need of assistance in getting their roof and homes back together, following the destruction left by hurricane Irma.

He told BVI Platinum News that after seeing the need of many residents, he contacted several persons who had conducted business with him in the past, to match his $10,000.00 contribution.

Hon. Walwyn said that the initiative has seen a $70,000.00 pledge so far, of which $40,000.00 have already been collected. To this end, Clarence Thomas Limited (CTL) Home Centre will be giving out $1,000 gift cards, redeemable in supplies such as paint, lumber, etc. to persons.
