Water Distributed To Purcell Estate, Free Bottom

Residents of the Purcell Estate and Free Bottom areas received water, as part of continued recovery efforts. The residents in those areas are still without water following the flood last week.

Hon. Myron Walwyn, At-Large Representative and Education and Culture Minister; and Hon. Alvera Maduro-Caines, Sixth District Representative, were behind the gesture.

"The residents in the district were very appreciative of the gesture. I know that the restoration teams are working very hard to bring comfort back to the people, so whatever I can do during the transition to help I will be very willing to do so," Hon. Walwyn briefly commented.

(PLTM) - He also acknowledged that the residents have been without water for quite sometime.

"The people in that district still have not received water. Work is being done as we (try) to restore the water supply, but we know that people were having a difficult time," he said.

Minister Walwyn noted that the distribution will continue this evening.
