(PLTM) - The national basketball team from the British Virgin Islands, ‘Willful Skillful BVI’, defeated their rivals, St. Kitts, in this year’s Battle of the Fittest Basketball Tournament in St. Maarten, over the weekend, July 22.

The win, with a score of 108- 80, saw the local team walking away with the title of the tournament, which is in its fourth consecutive year, as well as a cash prize of $5000.

During the tournament, the BVI team won every game on their way to the championship round.

Other participating countries in the tournament were Aruba, Dominican Republic, Holland, St. Maarten and St. Martin.

Willful Skillful is made up of some of the best players in the Territory, including Ray D. Victor, Killven M. Samuel, Juan R. Hatchet, Kimani T. Stevens and Khalid Gerrard.

Other members on the team are Clayon M. Reese, MacKebo R. Fahie, Jason J. Hodge, Raquan K. S. Fahie, Shemar George, and Cedric D. King.
