(PLTM) - BVIslander sprint star, Ashley Kelly, secured gold in the 400m finals at the Aliann Pompey Invitational Track and Field Meet in Guyana, over the weekend.
Kelly ended the race in a time of 51.92s, just ahead of Jamaican sprinter, Rushell Clayton.
Following the race, Kelly expressed that she was proud of her performance, and looking forward for the other meets ahead.
Kelly’s next event will be at the IAAF World Athletics Championships in London next month, August 4-13, where she will represent the British Virgin Islands alongside Kyron McMaster and Chantel Malone.
Her performance at an invitational meet in Miami earlier this month, secured her place in the London Championships.
