(PLTM) - A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for the Territory, and several areas across the Territory are out of electricity.

To this end, Director of the Department of Disaster Management (DDM), Ms. Sharleen DaBreo is asking that road users proceed carefully on the roadways, and avoid areas with excessive water.

"BVIEC crews have been deployed and are working to restore power. Public Works Department (PWD) crews are also aware of areas that may pose a problem to drivers...Also look out for fallen rocks on the hillsides. We expect to get an ease later this morning," she stated via social media.

The Flash Flood Warning is in effect until midday today.

The special weather forecast for the BVI, which is valid up to 8:00 am tomorrow, Friday, July 14, 2017, states that as a weak Tropical Wave gradually moves away from the Leewards, and continues to linger across the BVI, lingering moisture could still maintain a moderate chance for some shower activity across the Leewards today and diminish into tonight.

However, across the BVI, the wave will continue to be enhanced by an upper level trough, thus maintaining a high chance for heavy showers and thunderstorms today, gradually diminishing into tonight.

The forecast predicts mostly cloudy skies today and tonight, with a high chance of some scattered morning to mid-afternoon showers, some of which will be locally heavy at times accompanied scattered thunderstorms.

"Given that the earth is already saturated and the anticipation of more heavy showers this morning, a Flash Flood warning is in place until midday today."
