Kyron McMaster second in 400m hurdles at 2017 IAAF Diamond League in London

(PLTM) - BVI’s own superstar hurdler, Kyron McMaster, placed second in the 400m hurdles at the 2017 IAAF Diamond League, Muller Anniversary Games in London, yesterday, July 9. McMaster, who secured a time of 48.12s, was defeated by USA athlete Kerron Clement, who completed the race in 48.02s. In a previous interview, McMaster told BVI Platinum News that he would try to do his best, noting that competing in the senior division of the event is not a walk in the park. “At London, my aim is to do as best as I can. It’s my first year in the senior division and this isn’t the easiest division. You have to be on you’re a-game at every event. For London, it’s just for me to execute and see how far I go.” This race comes weeks after McMaster claimed his spot as the fastest 400m hurdler in the world, by running a time of 47.80s at the Jamaica Invitational Meet on May 20. Earlier this month, McMaster assisted his team in claiming the 2017 title for the Organization of Eastern Caribbean (OECS) 3rd Track and Field Championships in Grenada.
