(PLTM) - A panel of Court of Appeal Judges will on Wednesday, July 12th, hear the arguments in the appeal case of Mrs. Violet 'Letty' Hodge.

Hodge, through her lawyers, has appealed her 2015 importation of a controlled drug conviction at the Magistrate's Court.

In 2015 following a trial, Hodge, the wife of Earl 'Bob' Hodge, was found guilty on the charge of conspiracy to import cocaine, but not guilty on possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition, and not guilty of money laundering.

Months later, in September of last year, she was sentenced to six years in prison and fined $100,000 by Magistrate Ayanna Baptiste-DaBreo.

During the case, the defense had claimed that Hodge was ill; however, the nature of her health issues was not disclosed in open court.

In November of last year, Hodge was rushed to the Peebles Hospital after complaining of chest pain.
