(PLTM) - Young people are being warned to be aware of the animalistic behavior of humans, that they will find on their path to success.

Pastor Henderson Tittle, who was the keynote speaker at the graduation ceremony for the Virgin Islands School of Technical Studies (VISTS), cautioned that there will be many distractions ahead.

"I want you to keep your eyes on the hyenas that you will meet on this path. If you look at the hyena, it seems as if he is smiling, but no, he is saying in his mind, I want food, I am going to eat you."

He added, "And there are some people on your path that are smiling, but they are out to destroy you. They are like the hyenas, but you cannot let the hyenas distract you from accomplishing your goals."

They were also told about the alligators and parrots.

"Alligators, they are just going to be waiting, lurking for your mistake, for your fall, shortcomings…Parrots you are going to meet along this path, just talk a lot; they will make you promises and they will not fulfill their promises, but you cannot let that stop you from going on and reaching your destiny."

Students were encouraged to further keep an eye out for those who are pros in conning.

"Watch out for the snakes, they know how to disguise themselves; they are very conning. You have to be careful because if you allow these snakes they could stop you from reaching your destination."

He said, "The sharks are interested in blood, they want blood and they are going to kill you if they get the opportunity, but you have to stay focused because this is your path."

Pastor Tittle urged that they must know their why, and avoid excuses.

"There shouldn’t be any excuses; stay on the path...You must have a why; find a reason why you are doing this. Don’t just do this for somebody else, do it for you, a bigger reason. Stay focused. There are going to be distractions on this path; don’t allow your distractions to distract you," he pressed.

They were also told to be patient.
