(PLTM) - Persons of the community are being encouraged to make donations, to assist the family of the late Sherika Nelson-Da Silva, with costs associated with transporting her body to her home land of Jamaica.
Sherika was murdered by her husband, Lennox Franklyn Da Silva, on June 10, as the result of a domestic dispute.
Dr. Sylvia Simmons, who is providing counseling to the daughter of the deceased, noted that the family of the deceased are currently on island, but have encountered financial difficulties relating to transporting the body back to Jamaica, where they intend to host the burial.
As a result, the family has turned to the local community, soliciting assistance from persons who are willing to contribute to the cause.
“They came to us and told us of their issue. What we instructed is what we can do is go back to the community and see if persons would be able to assist,” Dr. Simmonds told BVI Platinum News.
Persons are encouraged to make their donations directly to the Davis Funeral Home, Purcell Estate.
