(PLTM) - Prosecutors were given one more chance to get themselves ready to move forward with a matter concerning Jeremiah Pickering and Shakeem Potter.

Both Pickering and Potter, who are charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, made an appearance at the Magistrate's Court earlier today, May 29, when Senior Magistrate Tamia Richards made her position known.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on November 18, 2014.

Highlighting that the matter has been dragging on since 2014, the court noted that there has not been much progress from the crown.

Crown Counsel Annjel Flax Solomon, who stood on behalf of Senior Crown Counsel O’Neil Simpson, informed the court that Mr. Simpson was currently engaged at the High Court.

“Do not come back to me with your excuses. Next time they just might get a chance to walk. I’ve taken out my red pen,” the Senior Magistrate told the crown.

She added, “The CCown is not ready. This is their last opportunity to get their ducks in a row or next time, I’m taking it off of my list.”

A final adjournment date was set for July 3.
