(PLTM) - Trevon Johnnie was left in a jam when his surety requested to be removed as surety on his bail.
At the Magistrate’s Court earlier this week, the surety, who had signed a $20,000 bail for Johnnie, told the court that she wants nothing to do with the accused, as he is now back with his wife.
“He is back with his wife and I don’t want anything to do with the situation. I don’t want to be in any drama.”
According to court records, Johnnie is facing charges that stem from an incident that occurred on August 29, 2016, where he is accused of assaulting his wife.
In an earlier appearance, he pleaded not guilty to the charges of being armed with an offensive weapon, common assault and criminal damage.
The female, whose name was not disclosed, was removed as surety.
The court granted Johnnie one week to find someone else who is willing to sign his bond. If he fails to find another surety, he will be remanded to Her Majesty's Prison.
He is expected to make another appearance on May 19.
