(PLTM) - The community is seeking updated information from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, regarding the death of Frankie Fahie, who was shot on January 6th at his bar in Long Look. Persons of the community have accused the local force of moving slow on the matter, as they begin to question, “how much longer?” “Gun down since January the 6th 2017, we are now in April 2017 and not a word about Frankie's murder. How much longer before someone would be brought to justice, and for all the other unsolved murders that happened here throughout the years gone by,” said one blogger on social media. Other persons in the community also shared their opinions on the matter. “The first time in many, many years that there has been so much violence. The authorities need to step up for the sake of the families who've lost their loved ones. Not the BVI I knew for so many years.” Some persons have blamed the crime situation on the politicians. “They [politicians] are going to drag their feet because we are not speaking up about these killings and crimes that goes on. Just wait until election they will be scrambling to find justice, but for right now the ones who can start the ball rolling are very relax. Our beautiful island is becoming a stomping ground for any and every one, because it easy access in and out.” Another posted, “Politicians promise a lot and do very little. Things start happening around election time, take road works for example, then they abruptly stop as soon as the election is over.” Fahie, an entrepreneur, was recorded as the first murder for the year. He was reportedly shot and hospitalized, and succumbed to his injuries shortly after. BVI Platinum News has confirmed with the local force that the investigation into the matter continues.
