(PLTM) - A delegation from the British Virgin Islands will be travelling to Puerto Rico later today, April 25, to compete in the Juan Enrique Barrios (JEB) Cup World Ranking Event, and the Caribbean Development Championships, from April 30th to May 5th 2017.

Representing the BVI will be Khristie Latchman, Shania Daigneault, D'Moi Martin, Adriel Singh, Jahmaine Liburd, Winnette Lawrence and Ritseeniyah Georges.

The team will be accompanied by Instructor, Mashuana Lake-Farrington and Head Coach, Patrick Smith.

The JEB Cup is a Developmental Championship League that was created as a stepping stone for developing countries in the sport.

The tournament, which is being hosted by the Puerto Rico Archery Association, provides the participating athletes with the opportunity to compete against other athletes in their categories on a world archery stage level.

The BVI is set to compete against a minimum of five other countries from the region, which include Chile, Bahamas and the US Virgin Islands.

The event also acts as a world ranking event for pro archers.

Coaches who attend with the various teams will also have the opportunity to participate in the elite coaching seminar, which will be conducted by Coach Phil Graves, a USA Archery Level 4 NTS Coach and a National Judge.
