(PLTM) - The BVI public is asked to return any Grace Food products to the place of purchase following a Product withdrawal exercise activated by Grace Foods.

In a statement issued by the company, there is a temporary ban on corn beef imported from Brazil and all retailers in the Territory are asked to remove these items from their shelves.

Acting Chief Environmental Health Officer, Mrs. Yolanda Penn said the recall is for any canned meat item, meat or poultry that bears the name Grace Food Products.

“Persons can return the items to the place of purchase for a full refund or exchange”, Mrs. Penn said. She added that the items may have been purchased from One Mart, Bobby's, or Tortola General Services located in Port Purcell.

Persons with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact the Environmental Health Division at 468-5110.

The Environmental Health Division is committed to ensuring that all aspects of the environment with the potential to negatively impact health are managed efficiently to enable all persons in the BVI to attain and maintain optimal health and social well-being.
