Island Wide Power Shutdown

(PLTM) - The Territory continues to experience power failure following by an island wide power outage that occurred around 1:00 pm today, March 20.

Minister of Communication and Works, Hon. Mark Vanterpool told BVI Platinum News that the Pockwood Pond Station had a complete shutdown.

The Minister noted that the BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) is unaware at this point as to the reason behind the outage, but noted that work is ongoing to rectify the issue.

He stated that electricity should be restored within the hour.
