(PLTM) - Young hopeful in the British Virgin Islands, Britney Peters established a new record in the Javelin Throw discipline over the weekend, February 25 at the Johnny Hassan Relays, hosted by the BVI Athletics Association.
With a heave of 42.08m (138’-11/16”), Peters demolished her previous national record.
This throw puts Peters as the first female athlete from the Territory who has ever thrown beyond 42m in the sport.
The event also saw amazing strides by other athletes, who continue to challenge themselves, improving their personal best times.
Both Adriano Gumbs and Joshua Hill improved their personal records in the 400m for the males, with times of 48.96s and 49.41s respectively.
The girls also scored new times in the 400m, with Tashira Edwards hitting the finish line in 57.21s, with Shaniya Caul directly behind with 57.28s.
