BVI Airways Partners With Platinum Services

BVIA AVRO RJ 100 - The first plane in the BVI Airways fleet, the Avro RJ100 at the company’s maintenance facility where work has begun to reconfigure the aircraft and prepare it for service. The plane is 102 feet long, has a wingspan of 87 feet and will carry 86 passengers.

(PLTM) - As plans continue to be put into place for the launch of BVI Airways’ (BVIA) non-stop air service between Beef Island, Tortola and Miami, Florida, the company is pleased to announce its partnership with Platinum (BVI) Services Limited for the handling of its ground operations.

As part of the management of the ground operations for BVIA, Platinum Services will be responsible for the provision of customer service agents and ramp handlers, as well as baggage handling.

Chief Executive Officer and President of the Airline, Jerry Willoughby said, “As we continue to make preparations for BVI Airways to enter the market, we believe that we have a responsibility to ensure that the airline is a true representation of the Virgin Islands and its people.”

He added, “Local company Platinum Services is an experienced and trusted port management firm in the Territory and we are looking forward to working with them to enhance the overall visitor experience to the BVI.”

Pati Romney, C.E.O. of Platinum Services commented and expressed the company’s enthusiasm for the partnership with BVIA by saying, “We are proud to be the local handlers for BVI Airways as they work to address the airlift void we face in the Territory. We see the service as an absolute necessity for our local travelers, our business community, and hopefully it will attract even more visitors to our shores.”

Romney added, “Our staff are excited to begin servicing the flights, and we look forward to a mutually successful partnership.”

As BVI Airways gears up to offer the very first non-stop jet service between Beef Island, Tortola and Miami, Florida, the company continues its development of strong partnerships with various local companies to assist in developing a truly local aviation brand and superior service to its customers.
