Kevin Fisher celebrated his goal with a show of support for Jamaican player, Dominic James who died of heart problems whilst playing for St Georges College in Jamaica

(PLTM) - The Golden Boot Award for this year’s BVI National Football Tournament 2016/17, was secured by Kevin Fisher of the Islanders football team.

Fisher ended the season with a total of 13 goals, two more than Mohammed Kachour of Sugar Boys and Richard Morgan of One Love, who tied in second place with 11 goals.

As the preliminaries of the tournament come to an end, Panthers secured their final victory, defeating Virgin Gorda United with 4 nil. Goals came compliments of Phillip Graham (2), Prevell Asson and Wayne Phillip.

Wolues ended their season in 5th place following a 4-1 win over Old Madrid. Goals came from Xavier Gili, Giovanni Di Bliaise and Rory Greenan (2).

The final games will see the top four teams of the league going head to head. Islanders will face of with One Love in the first semi final, while the Rebels take on the Sugar Boys in the second semi final.

Both games are scheduled for Saturday, February 11 at the A.O. Shirley Recreational Grounds at 5:00 pm and 7: pm respectively.

Presentations of the various awards for the National League will take place this coming Sunday, February 12 at the A.O. Shirley Recreational Grounds.
