(PLTM) - The first event to officially open the Triathlon season in the British Virgin Island kicks off today, February 5th, with a three disciplined competition.
The event, organized by the BVI Triathlon Federation, will see persons competing in a 750m swim, 20k bike ride and a 5k run.
The swimming section of the race begins and ends at the Baughers Bay beach. Participants then grab their bikes and cycle to town, through Waterfront Drive, and down to Nanny Cay, Ocean Reef apartments, where they will then commence their final leg of the race, running back to town, ending at the office of the Tortola Sports Club.
The event is open to individual men and women, as well as open teams and corporate teams.
Prizes are made available for first, second and third places.
