(PLTM) - As residents continue to complain about economic hardship, crime and other problems affecting the Territory, government is inviting residents to join the 2nd Annual Territorial Interdenominational Service of Thanksgiving and Intercession to pray for the people and leaders of the Territory.
The Government of the Virgin Islands, in collaboration with Aglow International Virgin Islands Chapter, will host the service on Sunday, January 15 at 4:00 pm at the New Life Baptist Church under the theme, ‘We Beseech Thee, Oh Lord.’
Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr. Orlando Smith is encouraging Territory-wide participation in this worthwhile initiative as everyone unites to pray on behalf of these Virgin Islands.
"My government welcomes the opportunity to partner with the community and Aglow International as we recognise that we cannot do it alone.”
The Premier added, “As a leader of this Territory, I pray that God protects our families, our youth, and our Territory from natural and man made disasters, and that He arrests any problems threatening and destroying the fabric of our society.”
According to government, the service is designed to bring the community together to collectively thank God for his protection through 2016 and to invite his guidance, protection and favour on the government and the people of the Territory in 2017.
