A man was attacked for the second time by a gunman in two weeks.

According to information, the individual who was shot in the Long Look area earlier this month, was a target again this evening, Friday, December 23, 2016.

Information, which is still sketchy, indicates that the man was walking home in the Belle Vue area when an armed masked person came from behind a rock and fired shots. However, he ran for cover, dodging the bullets, while the gunman made good his escape.

Police are continuing their investigations.

The same individual was injured following a report of gun fire in the Long Look area around 6:30 am on December 12. He reported to Peebles Hospital with bullet wounds and was subsequently discharged.

"Details surrounding this incident are unknown at this time. Police will give an update when one becomes available," police stated following that shooting.
