(PLTM) - Mariano Farrington, 45, has become a regular fixture in the sittings of the Magistrate's Court, following his numerous appearances throughout the last couple of months.
In another appearance yesterday, December 16, Farrington pleaded guilty to the offence of criminal damage, where he destroyed the front windshield of a taxi, valued at $925.
On August 25 of this year while driving towards Belle Vue with a customer in the back seat, James Anthony, a 75 year-old taxi driver saw the accused walking swiftly across the road, directly in front of him. This brought Anthony’s taxi to an abrupt stop.
At this time, the court heard that Farrington made a tight grip fist with both hands and banged the glass, causing it to crack. He then shouted to Anthony, “You Rich”.
Farrington told the court that he was under the influence when he cracked the windshield.
He will make another appearance for this matter on January 20th, 2017.
