(PLTM) - Police arrested and charged Kerrison Smith of Towers, West End, after 0.8 grams of cannabis, as well as cocaine, were found in his possession.

The accused made an appearance earlier this month at the Magistrate’s Court, where he was instructed by his attorney, Jamal Smith, to withhold his plea until full disclosure was made by the Crown.

The particulars of the matter revealed, that on July 4, in Josiah’s Bay, around 2:00 a.m, police saw the accused bending over in the bushes.

After making their presence known, Smith told the officers, that he was looking for a friend who lived in the area, but he was unsure of the individual's exact address.

The court heard that another man appeared on the scene with cash in his hand, which led to the accused confessing that he was in the area to buy weed.

As result of a search, officers found the drug on his person, in addition to a black pouch, containing small bags of white substance suspected to be cocaine, in the bushes. Smith’s driver’s license was found in the black pouch.

Officers also found dried tobacco leaves and wrapping paper in his parked vehicle.

He was granted bail in the sum of $50,000 and will make another appearance on March 3rd 2017.
