Keno Allen

(PLTM) - The trial involving robbery accused Keno Allen came to an abrupt end in the High Court during the middle of the hearing.

High Court Judge, Madame Nicola Byer ordered a mistrial following an administrative related issue which arose. She then set the new trial for January 2017.

The crown had already called two witnesses to testify. They had intended to call seven witnesses during the trial.

Allen, who is on remand, is charged with attempting to choke, robbery and indecent assault in relation to the May 2012 incident. His lawyer is David Penn.

According to the allegations, on the night in question, the female victim was walking along Main Street in the vicinity of the Commercial Court, heading to the Dove Restaurant when the incident took place.

Allen approached the woman and identified himself as a police officer, who was doing some inquiries for the Superintendent of Police. He told the woman that they needed her assistance, but at that time the woman refused. However, Allen asked her to go with him to see the Superintendent for herself.

The victim then conceded, but as she walked along, Allen pushed her into an alley area, held her down, indecently assaulted and choked her. He also took some items from her.

During the ordeal, someone intervened and Allen took off.
