(PLTM) - On the night of May 11, 2012, Keno Allen pretended to be a police officer, luring a woman into an alley on Main Street where he robbed and touched her in a sexual manner, according to Prosecutors.

Allen, who is charged with attempting to choke, robbery and indecent assault, is currently on trial in relation to the 2012 incident. The trial commenced before High Court Judge, Nicola Byer yesterday, November 28, 2016.

At yesterday's hearing, Dr. Christopher Melchor Roberts, who treated the victim at the Peebles Hospital following the incident, testified that the woman appeared traumatized, but not to the extreme. "It seemed as if she had an emotional disturbance."

He was responding to questions as to what emotional state the woman was in when she arrived at the hospital.

The doctor said that she had areas of erythema (redness) on parts of her skin--neck, back, chest and thigh. Dr. Roberts said that the injuries were consistent with trauma and forced pressure being applied.

Under cross examination, Attorney at Law, David Penn, who is representing Allen, asked the witness whether the woman was raped and if he had even examined her private parts. Dr. Roberts said no.

Penn further asked Dr. Roberts if the patient had complained about being molested, but the witness said she related that there was some attempt, but she managed to struggle; hence, no penetration occurred.

The lawyer put to the witness that he cannot say for sure that Keno caused those injuries on the patient. "No," Dr. Roberts responded.

The witness told the court that the kind of force used on the woman could be consistent with choking, struggling and some friction involved, causing the skin to sheer.

According to the allegations, the victim was walking along Main Street in the vicinity of the Commercial Court, heading to the Dove Restaurant when the incident took place.

Allen approached the woman and identified himself as a police officer, who was doing some inquiries for the Superintendent of Police. He told the woman that they needed her assistance, but at that time the woman refused. However, Allen asked her to go with him to see the Superintendent for herself.

The victim then conceded, but as she walked long, Allen pushed her into an alley area, held her down, indecently assaulted and choked her. He also took some items from her.

During the ordeal, someone intervened and Allen took off.

The trial continues today.
