The four young basketballers who topped the charts at this year’s Digicel NBA Elite Camp, will head to New York from December 6th through to the 11th for the ultimate NBA experience.

At the camp hosted at the Multipurpose Sports Complex in early October, BVIslanders Shaliqua Fahie, Mahkayla Pickering, Omar Walker and Demoi Bradley were praised and rewarded for their resilience, discipline, skills, team support and sportsmanship.

The athletes were chosen with nine other young athletes from across the Caribbean to journey to New York.

As outlined by NBA’s Senior Director of International Basketball, Troy Justice, while in New York, the winners will have opportunities to play games against high school teams in the New York district, in addition to receiving personal training sessions and coaching from current NBA coaches.

They will also be able to attend New York Nicks and Nets NBA games, gain backstage access, tour the arenas, visit NBA stores and receive a tour of New York City.

“It’s a great opportunity to grow, not only as a basketball player, but as young men and women,” Justice said at the time.

We talk about kids when they do bad but when they do good not a word. Keep up the great work and congratulations on this amazing opportunity. When you make it big they will come.

I do hope that these kids GPA are good and behavior is good as well. Don't make sense sending kids away if their grades is not good, skipping class, etc.

Hon. Myron make sure the government is not rewarding bad behavior
