(PLTM) - Both BVIslander, Sharlene Maduro and Vincentian, McCaul Defreitas were ordered to attend the Love Programme at the Family Support Network after being charged for common assault against each other. The couple made an appearance earlier this month at the Magistrate’s Court, where Senior Magistrate Tamia Richards expressed concern over their relationship, adding that they need help. According to the particulars of the matter, on October 10 at their Fat Hogs Bay home, both the accused got into a fight over the whereabouts of a chip. In an interview with officers, both defendants accused the other of being the aggressor. The court heard that Ms. Maduro told the officers that Mr. Defreitas punched her in her face, while Mr. Defreitus explained that she [Ms. Maduro] scratched him in his face and he held her tightly to end the altercation. Maduro was offered bail of $40,000, while McCaul was offered bail of $50,000, both with a signed surety. They will make another appearance before the court on February 3rd 2017.
