(PLTM) - Senior Magistrate Tamia Richards sentenced Haitian native, Bernard Dorival, 31, to serve six months in prison for forging someone’s signature on a BVI passport application form.

In an appearance before the Magistrate's Court yesterday, November 10, the accused, who was charged with forgery and uttering forge documents, received a sentence of six months on each charge. The sentences will run concurrently.

Dorival pleaded guilty to the charges on September 23.

As noted by the crown in an earlier appearance, the accused copied the signature of a government worker from a previous form they had signed.

Following the new form being submitted at the Passport and Civil Registry Office, the individual expressed that they had not signed it and did not authorise the accused to do so either.
