(PLTM) - Telecommunications company, Flow BVI along with the Rotary Club of Road Town, have joined forces to work on a number of projects geared towards cleaning and beautifying the Territory. Representatives of both organizations will be dispersed around the Territory later today, October 19, working on several projects which include the cleaning and beautifying of bus shelters in Road Town, building and painting benches for the Elmore Stout High School, and performing maintenance and clean-up of the landscape at Mount Healthy National Park. Various schools from around the Territory will also benefit from the humanitarian efforts of the organizations, as representatives will conduct reading sessions with the students as a means of encouraging literacy. The projects are a part of Flow BVI’s 2nd annual ‘Mission Day’, which is a day designated for its employees to take time out of their usual work day to contribute to a local community project that exemplifies and highlights the company’s mission, which promotes connecting communities. Sarah Graham, Marketing Manager of Flow BVI said, “We are keen to get involved in more hands-on community activities, like the Zika prevention clean-up last month. This month we are delighted to work closely with the Rotary Club of Road Town to identify initiatives that will benefit the BVI community.” She noted that although today’s projects are focused only on Tortola, the company will be holding further discussions to identify projects they can assist with on Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost van Dyke. Community Services Director of the Rotary Club of Road Town, Joseph Ryan said “It has been a great experience working with Flow since the start of the year. We recently partnered for the Kiddies Fiesta in July, which was a huge success and here we are again on a day of community activities.” President of the Rotary Club of Road Town, Nelcia St. Jean expressed her delight with the partnership and the day’s activities, which are in keeping with this year’s Rotary International theme, ‘Rotary Serving Humanity’. “We are very happy to be partnering with Flow as one of our platinum sponsors for the Rotary year, to deliver on these community service projects. There are a lot of things that need to be done in the BVI community and partnerships like this aid in providing Rotary with the resources necessary to address those needs.”
