(PLTM) - Three officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) will step out of uniform and into the world of pageantry as they are set to vie for the coveted title of Miss RVIPF later this month, October 29 at the Road Town Police Station at 7:00 pm.

Police Constables Delma Tavenier-Perez and Joeverne Webb, and Acting Chief Inspector Smyrna Brewley are set compete in various segments, namely introduction, drills, talent, evening wear and question and answer.

The winner of the pageant will go on to represent the Territory against eight other countries in a regional police pageant being hosted by the RVIPF in 2017 for their 50th anniversary.

In an interview with co-chair of the pageant’s organising committee, Sergeant Jacqueline Tom-Christopher, she said the pageant is the first of many events to mark the organisation’s golden anniversary in February 2017.

The highlight of the celebration will be the regional police pageant, where one female officer from various constabularies and law enforcement agencies will represent her respective force.

“Police pageants are becoming popular across the region as a way to bridge the gap between forces and at the same time, create a light-hearted diversion to what is largely a stressful profession,” said Sergeant Christopher.
