(PLTM) - In an appearance merely to respond to a charge of theft, Reynold Stoutt, 61, informed the Magistrate's Court that he has been a user of crack cocaine for the last 30 years. His admission came in response to the court inquiring whether he uses any drugs.
He further told the court, “I don’t abuse it, I don’t use it every day. I use it when the feelings hit.”
Stoutt, of Purcell Estate, is charged for allegedly stealing a Johnnie Walker Black Label rum, costing $39.99 from One Mart in Purcell Estate on August 31st 2015.
The accused, who pleaded guilty to the offence, informed the court that his actions were as a result of him having financial issues.
“I was doing real bad. I wasn’t working nowhere,” Stoutt told the court.
The accused, who is now employed on a chicken farm in Josiah's Bay, was ordered to seek drug treatment at the Peebles Hospital.
He will make another appearance on December 2nd.
