(PLTM) - Tahesia Harrigan-Scott placed 6th in the Women’s 100m Preliminary Round, Round 1 of the Summer Olympics in Rio, Brazil last evening, August 12.
Unfortunately, she will not advance to the semi-finals scheduled for today, August 13.
There were a total of 8 rounds for the Womens 100m heats, where only the first and second placements of each round advanced on to the next round, along with the next best 8 times.
Earlier in the day, Elinah Phillip placed third in the Women’s 50m Freestyle heats.
The 16 year-old’s performance secured her a new personal best time and set a new National Record with a time of 26.26.
Unfortunately, Elinah did not advance to the semi-finals as only the top 16 moved through. She ranked 48 of the 88 swimmers.
Ashley Kelly will compete in Round 1 of the 200m on August 15th and Eldred Henry will be throwing the Shot Put on August 18.
